Gain Even More Out Of The Data In Your Vertafore Solution

Unlock the true potential of your Vertafore integration solutions with Synatic

‍Data is the lifeblood of the insurance industry and is the key to remaining competitive. Many insurers use Vertafore's range of solutions – such as AMS360, BenefitPoint, PL Rater, RiskMatch and Sagitta - to operate their business, understand risk, and meet the rising expectations of customers. Synatic’s Hybrid Integration Platform (HIP) is the tool that many Vertafore integration solutionsolution users have chosen to make data capture and integration between customer-centric systems such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM or Salesforce easier.

Data Challenges in the Insurance Industry

Insurance companies have various data repositories for managing different areas of the business. Typically, insurers get their data from multiple sources, some of which are easy to load, and others that are less amenable to capturing. For example, data extracted from rating engines and comparative raters is less flexible and often has to be input manually. The problem with manual data capture is that it is considerably time-consuming and prone to errors and omissions.

In an attempt to improve customer centricity, a number of insurance brokers have started to implement CRM systems, like Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Hubspot, or Salesforce. Even though these platforms are incredibly powerful, their benefits cannot be leveraged to improve operations without integrating the CRM system with a customer’s existing solution stack, to create a 360-degree view of their customers. The main challenges Vertafore users face when synchronizing data with the relevant CRM is how to automate the process, and how to eliminate errors when syncing.

Vertafore ‍Integration Challenges

Insurance companies tend to tackle integration initially by writing custom code. The problem is custom code becomes difficult to maintain as it grows and increases in complexity when it comes to error management. These errors result in unnecessary downtime and force developers to spend time focusing on maintaining code instead of working on more important projects.

Custom code can also lack the level of data security to comply with insurance standards. This can result in material costs for policyholders and third parties as well as fines.

Here are some of the main issues that Vertafore integration users experience:

  • Capturing data manually
  • Integrating data between different systems while complying and making errors easy to fix
  • Reporting on data in real time
  • Coordinating and connecting internal and third-party systems, to make integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or Salesforce easy

How Synatic Enhances Vertafore Applications

Synatic is working with Vertafore customers to provide integration solutions that deliver rapid, repeatable integrations between applications. Synatic is a Nimble, Simple, and Powerful Hybrid Integration Platform that can address simple as well as complex data integration requirements and automate the process of data integration and aggregation.

To make Vertafore integration easier, Synatic has out-of-the-box Connectors for Vertafore applications. Connectors handle the technical issues of application-specific integrations, making it easy for developers to build and maintain integrations. Synatic also has an API Builder that can streamline integrations with APIs like AMS360, Salesforce and BenefitPoint. Here are some specific use cases where Synatic improves the Vertafore experience for its users.

Vertafore Integration Use Cases ‍

AMS360, BenefitPoint and Salesforce Integration

By using multiple workflows, Synatic built an integration solution that allowed PSA, an independent insurance brokerage and risk management firm, to create a solution that enabled the bi-directional transfer of data between PSA’s Agency Management System (AMS360) and Salesforce. This allowed PSA to create a client shell profile on AMS360 using information from Salesforce which includes data such as the client’s name, producer, address, and other basic information. Once this information had been transferred into AMS360, policy administrators were able to begin servicing their clients using the newly integrated AMS. Having quick and easy access to the client information allowed administrators to have a single unified view of each client’s account which helped them add customer value when dealing with clients.

In addition to the AMS360 and Salesforce integration, Synatic built an integration that allowed external servers to connect to their internal BenefitPoint database directly. The integration eliminated the need for administrators to continuously export and store data that would be used to develop reports. Through Synatics’s ETL capabilities, PSA was able to make reporting data accessible to the administrators. This enabled PSA to transfer data safely and securely into their on-premise SQL server. Administrators are now able to access data and build reports directly utilizing connections from PowerBI, Excel and several other applications. ‍

Sagitta to Salesforce Integration

Synatic worked with OneGroup, a leader in risk management, insurance and business solutions, to build a Sagitta to Salesforce integration. The Bi-directional integration allowed OneGoup to automate data sync between their Sagitta and Salesforce systems in order to sync customer, accounts, contact details and policy information. A common challenge experienced with Sagitta integrations is the ability to source and transform information out of the solution due to the complex data constructs within Sagitta. Sagitta utilizes the Rocket UniVerse database which is often a challenge for data extraction. The traditional approach to the Sagitta and Salesforce integration would be to write custom-code. Synatic was able to extract the data using an ODBC connector, manipulate the data and effortlessly and push it into the Salesforce. Through Synatic’s solution OneGroup was able to improve data accuracy and insights.

Business Intelligence (BI) tool Integration and Data De-duplication

Using data from Vertafore products like AMS360, Sagitta and BenefitPoint in order to build reports, requires users to identify and extract data from multiple reports, generate these reports, and analyze information using sorting and filtering capabilities often in Excel. This report building process can be time-consuming and leaves room for human error to corrupt reports. Synatic enables Vertafore users to easily build reports by storing data in Synatic’s built-in warehouse and publishing it to a BI tool where the data would automatically be analyzed and used to build comprehensive reports and notifications. What’s more, Synatic’s error management capabilities allow businesses to catch duplicate data and ensure reports remain duplicate free.

Benefits of Using Synatic for Integration

Synatic is a cost-effective integration platform to build integrations between applications. It effectively eliminates the problems and difficulties of custom code integrations.

Synatic's error management capabilities enable developers to resolve issues more quickly without having to keep contacting technical support.

A graphical user interface allows developers using Synatic to be more productive and provides non-technical users with a low-code option that they can make use of with just a few hours of training.

With access security enabled at different levels, and data encrypted during transfer, Synatic ensures that relevant data is visible to the right people at the right time. This reduces the risk of accidental data breaches and provides protection from malicious threats without restricting employee productivity.

Getting the Full Benefit of Vertafore Integration with Synatic

The combination of fragmented data stored in disparate, disconnected applications, with the inability to use this data to make better decisions or gain useful insights, prevents insurance companies from operationalizing their data. Add to that the time and effort spent on capturing important data manually, and companies are not getting the value from their data that they need in the modern, competitive insurance environment.

Businesses using the Vertafore suite of applications can eliminate these problems by taking advantage of a Hybrid Integration platform like Synatic. The platform enables data from multiple applications to be consolidated, automates the process of capturing forms so that manual input is not required, and lets insurers get the benefits of customer-centric insights provided by integrating their data into Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce CRM applications.
